Steve Timmerman---Aiken Massage & Allergy Clinic

It is possible you may never meet anyone more content than Steve Timmerman. He's happy in his work, his marriage--heck, he's justu happy in his own skin. And that happiness has this wonderful tendency to rub off on to those around him.

Ask him about it and he's likely to shrug and whisper something about being very blessed. Watch him though and you see he squeezes all the joy he can from the things around him.

His two dogs--Zoe and Emma (both are rescue stories)--and the cat, playfully named "Trouble" give you a hint of Steve's appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Step out to his favorite seat on the modest screened patio and you will find the back yard aflutter with birds and butterflies. This is intentional. "It's fairly amazing when you see what God has done," he says in his understated way.

He comes by his faith naturally, being the self-described son of a prayer warrior. It seems fitting then that his line of work is about helping people at the most fundamental level; alleviating pain.

"For some massage therapists it's all about ambience and relaxation," says Steve. "For me...I'm lucky if I remember to turn on some music. No---what I do to help the body is ease its own pain by finding the underlying muscular cause and working those muscles to release their iron grip." Does it work? "Well, most of my business comes from referrals of those I've helped. Yes...it works."

A recent addition to Steve's holistic repertoire is NAET, a means of treating allergies without medication. "I was skeptical too. But I saw the results before I took the training. Now, I've treated some who had given up hope--and I've seen them weep with joy over the results."

Fittingly, Steve says his favorite scripture verse is John 10:10 in which Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest." Steve lives life that way--to its fullest. Surrounded by nature, and clients who can't thank him enough for his help--small wonder Steve is a happy man.
